BackBeat G2 - Wearable Tactile Feedback for Bass

When the cabinets come off stage and you switch to in-ears, the notes are still there but the feel is gone. IEMs give you a clean mix. No rumble in your chest. BackBeat G2 puts it back. It's a wearable tactile transducer, sometimes called a bass shaker or a rumble pack.

Built for silent stages, ampless and IEM rigs, volume-restricted venues (church, theater, corporate), and headphone practice. Run your bass alone, or feed the full monitor mix through the aux input to lock in tighter with your drummer.

At roughly 11 oz it disappears on your strap and travels in a gig-bag pocket, ideal for fly dates and backline gigs where hauling a rig isn't an option.

It's the missing half of an in-ear rig.

What's in the box

The unit, a strap clip, a custom instrument cable, and a charging cable.

How it works

Clip to your strap → plug in your bass → power on, then dial in the intensity from the Bluetooth app. Works alongside your IEM rig with no added stage volume.

Need extras? Add spare strap clips and cables to your cart.

FAQs

It thumps at the exact frequency your bass puts out, so you feel pitch - not just a generic rumble. Many players pick out note definition through it, even with IEMs off.

A wearable tactile transducer that clips to your bass strap and converts your bass signal into physical vibration you feel through your body - the feel of an amp, with zero added stage volume.

Yes - that's exactly what it's built for. It restores the physical low end that IEMs and ampless rigs remove.

Plug your bass into the 1/4" input, or feed a monitor mix (bass + kick) through the 1/8" stereo aux input. A signal-through jack passes your signal to your amp or pedalboard; a headphone output covers silent practice.

3–5 hours per charge at full strength, longer at lower intensity. Charges over USB-C.

Bass is the primary use case, but any instrument or monitor feed with low-frequency content works - drummers and keys players use it too.

If you catch me on stage or in the studio, I'll have one of my two BackBeat G2's on. It truly lets you feel what you are playing in any environment, no matter how quiet, loud, or just right. Gives you that 8-speaker feeling without the fridge. Especially exceptional if you are asked to track at the board, makes the groove effortless. Very happy customer. - Micah Roark - longlostlocals.com

As a touring bassist with a rigorous schedule, my BackBeat(s) has been my foundation for ensuring a solid performance every time; I know it has my back for the biggest and smallest shows by always delivering a constant rumble that mimics a bass cabinet perfectly. Simple out of the box setup, unmatched support and reliability for a working musician. Backbeat will always be a part of my setup for years to come. Looking forward to the next generation of Backbeat innovation and things to come!

The BackBeat G2 has completely changed the way I perform with in-ear monitors. Being able to physically feel my bass again while playing live makes all the difference. The vibration is incredibly natural and restores that connection to the instrument that can sometimes get lost when using IEMs.

It’s even great with or without a bass amp and IEMs, which makes it incredibly versatile depending on the gig or rehearsal setup.

The unit is lightweight, and the battery life easily keeps up with long rehearsals and shows. After using it on stage, I can’t imagine playing without it.

If you’re a bassist using in-ear monitors, the BackBeat G2 isn’t just another piece of gear—it’s essential. Five stars without hesitation.

Using a Fractal AX8 in the place of an amp the G2 is a great ambience simulator. in addition to the incredible feel, it also adds a nice sustain....

Great invention! I originally got the G1 backbeat when they 1st came out, and it was a game changer for me playing live. Completely reproduces the bass frequencies, you feel every note you play, amazing, especially in situations where stage volume needs to be low. Then I got the G2, there are some differences. The G1 has a sharper attack and is fairly even up an down the neck for the frequencies. The G2 is more subtle in the rumble, more like it envelops you rather than the sharp attack. After a few gigs I settled in with the G2. They are both great, not sure if the G1 is available anymore. I can't imagine playing a gig without either the G1 or G2, they're both awesome.

Thats the greatest thing for bass since B strings... feeling the bass with the audio in inears just makes the performance so much better. The app is soo great, controlling settings in real time...

Great product and a necessity for any bass player using inear monitors. I average about 150 shows a year and my back beats are there for every show! I can’t play without it.. Thank you,Yerko!

Negatives: Battery seems to be fading the effectiveness of the subwoofer after one week. Also, the clip on the strap is v-er-y uncomfortable digging into my back. Positives: Suprisingly effective as I suspected this was a gimmick for bass players. Not quite ready to return it, and at the same time considering returning it. Summary: The jury is still out.

I absolutely love this piece of gear. As a bass player who plays ampless, This replaces the missing thump from your amp that we all love. It’s very easy to use and is very well build.

I like some features on the G2 over the original. One of those being the battery meter. The G2 doesn't seem to be as strong as the original and for sure, the headphone volume is a lot lower on the G2. I use the headphone output for practice at home and it just doesn't put out. I retained my original backbeat and I have to use it for practice which is disappointing to me. The cable on the G2 seems thin and I'm hoping there are no issues with it. A manual would have been nice as to define the new additions although it doesn't take long to figure out when you start working with it. It seems to work as should although I'm a bit disappointed about the things I mentioned.
